What is an item?
An item can be a sample or reagent of any type that is being tracked at the most granular level. Your item can be within a cell of a cryobox or something captured within a container (i.e. jug or tube vial).
What is an item type?
An item type is used to describe the item you are managing. Genemod offers default templates with supporting form fields to each item type including: default, primer, strain, antibody, chemical, chemical probe, plasmid, enzyme, and cell line. Genemod has captured some of the most used item types, but if you don’t see your intended item type, you also have the ability to create a custom item type of your own by creating a custom item type template. To learn more on how, check out Creating a custom item template.
