Recording and manipulating data are essential to most experiment protocols. That’s why Genemod’s protocol document has a powerful integrated data table you can use to record and process experiment results.

Creating a table

A table can be added to a protocol document by clicking on the insert table button in the toolbar and selecting your dimensions.

Tables can be added and edited during both the ‘draft’ and ‘in progress’ experiment stages. This allows you to set up expected data inputs during the draft stage, and also to add experimental results in the ‘in progress’ stage.

Populating data

Adding data to a table can be done by selecting a cell and typing it into the cell, or into the formula input.

Adding formulas

The table has built-in formulas that allow you to aggregate several other cells to produce a result.

The following formulas are supported: sum, average, count, min, max.

Editing table name

The table name can be changed by clicking on the three-dot menu and clicking Rename Table.

Deleting a table

A table can be deleted by clicking the three-dot menu and selecting Delete table.

Changing table dimensions

A table’s dimensions can be changed by clicking on the plus buttons to the right of the last column or beneath the last row, or by hovering over a row/column, clicking the arrow button, and selecting an Insert or Delete option.
