What are the ‘materials’ in an experiment?

‘Materials’ help you and your collaborators identify the reagents and materials needed in advance. You can add samples from an external source with a URL, or from your inventory on Genemod. In this article, you will learn how to add materials from an external source.

How do you add materials?

  1. Navigate to your experiment of interest in Projects and by default, you will be on the Overview tab. Click on Materials tab.

  2. Add a material by clicking on the ‘+’ button.

  3. In the input field under ‘name’ column, enter the name of the material you want to add. Press ENTER to add as an external material.

  4. In the input field under ‘link’ column, paste the external URL.

  5. (Optional) To the right of the ‘link’ column, add source information in the respective fields.

  6. To save the material, click the button located at the right end of the row.

  7. That’s it! Your material is now added and accessible by your collaborators.
